Volunteer Roles
Client Facing Roles
Empower and encourage our clients to take their next step toward a hope-filled, independent future.

As a Skills Coach, you would coach our clients through a variety of topics based on your personal expertise and preferences. Topics can include going over a handout from class on safety, commitments, meal planning, etc., being a soundboard for a big decision a client has to make, go over her budget, explain how insurance works, basic car maintenance, and much more.
-
Every fourth Monday of the month (with exceptions for the Holiday schedule), we share a meal with our clients and their children. Family Meal Attendees sit with our ladies and their children to build community, encourage them and listen to them.
-
This mentor walks alongside one client as they go through the Side-by-Side program by offering financial discipleship, practical tools, guidance, and support as clients learn how to create a budget, maintain it, and set and reach financial goals as they work toward financial stability.

For each class, we take attendance and have to shuffle some furniture around to set up. A class assistant would help with setup, greet clients as they arrive, mark attendance and have any new clients dropping in fill out a short form.

Support Roles
Help 431 Ministries with a variety of important roles that help our opportunities run smooth, our impact grow, and our clients stay safe!

This team helps watch children 12 years old and younger during our various client opportunities. By providing childcare, we open the door for single moms to attend, which will help them take steps towards hope and an independent future.
-
This team helps us with a variety of office support such as stuffing and labeling envelopes, data entry, creating class booklets, and more.
-
Throughout the year, we offer large group opportunities, and we need a volunteer team to plan and implement. These opportunities either are directly for our clients or help us raise money so we can continue to not only offer these opportunities but expand our capacity to serve more women.
-
Throughout the year, we offer three large events: one in the spring, one in the fall and one in the winter. We need many volunteers to help make the event a success, such as helping with set up or tear down, serving food at a buffet, decorating a room, etc. These events either are directly for our clients or help us raise money so we can continue to not only offer these opportunities but expand our capacity to serve more women.

At all of our classes and Side-by-Side Trainings, we offer a (light) meal and snacks. The food team would prepare food for the attendees (sometimes including staff, volunteers and children) and drop it off at the office. Keep in mind, it can be really simple - sandwich ingredients, a crockpot of Chili, soup with garlic bread, you name it! Most of the time, 10 servings is enough to feed everyone.

This team helps our clients when specific needs arise, like helping a client move to a new place, helping a client leave a domestic abuse situation, making improvements to the 431 Office, etc.
